Tennessee Tech moves to second place after round two at OVC Women’s Golf Championship

Tennessee Tech advanced to second place on Apr. 20 after the second round of the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Golf Championship at Dalton Golf and Country Club.

The team improved its standing by one spot from the opening round, finishing with a total score of 637 (+61) through 36 holes. Tennessee Tech now trails only Little Rock as they head into the final round scheduled for Tuesday.

A balanced performance contributed to the team’s rise, with four players posting similar scores that kept them close to the tournament lead. Kaydi Rhodes led Tennessee Tech for a second consecutive day, shooting a 78 (+6) and tying for sixth individually at +14 overall. Lexus Julian also shot a 78 (+6), moving into ninth place at +15 overall.

Kailey Lane showed significant improvement by reducing her score by eight strokes compared to her first round, carding a 77 (+5) and tying for fourteenth place at +18 overall. Chloe Griffith completed the top four scorers with an 81 (+9), sharing sixth position with Rhodes at +14.

Summer Pilot added an 83 (+11), providing further depth as Tennessee Tech posted one of the day’s best team scores. The Golden Eagles reduced their first-round total by nine strokes (from 323), placing them just behind Little Rock (613, +37) going into the last day of competition.

The final round will take place Tuesday morning, where Tennessee Tech will compete among tournament leaders in pursuit of an Ohio Valley Conference championship.
