The Tennessee Tech men’s golf team completed two days of competition on April 7, finishing ninth at the Racer Intercollegiate in Paducah, Kentucky, and achieving notable individual performances at the TSU Big Blue Invitational in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
The team recorded a total score of 881 (+17) over three rounds at the Country Club of Paducah. Haden Maxwell led the Golden Eagles with a tie for 16th place after posting rounds of 71 (-1), 70 (-2), and 76 (+4) for a total of 217 (+1). Nick Etherton finished tied for 22nd with a score of 218 (+2), improving after an opening round of 77 (+5) to card back-to-back under-par rounds.
Other contributors included Bryson White (tied for 42nd at +7), Drew Bolton (tied for 62nd at +12), and Cooper Gettler (tied for 71st at +15). The team maintained its position inside the top ten throughout all three rounds against a competitive field.
At the TSU Big Blue Invitational held simultaneously, Matthew Shull led Tennessee Tech individuals by placing seventh overall with scores of 73 (+2), a career-low second round of 69 (-2), and a final round of 70 (-1) to finish one under par. Spencer Stuke secured a top-20 finish in seventeenth place, while Alex Broyles placed thirty-third and Owen Bright rounded out the group in fifty-eighth position.
These results reflect depth across Tennessee Tech’s lineup as multiple players posted sub-par rounds and top-25 finishes. The team’s performance builds momentum as they approach the final stretch of their spring season.
