Tennessee Tech lost 6-2 to SIUE in a baseball game on March 29, as the Golden Eagles showed determination with two solo home runs but were unable to overcome their opponent.
The result leaves Tennessee Tech with a record of 9-19 overall and winless in Ohio Valley Conference play. The game highlighted moments of resilience for the Golden Eagles, who relied on power hitting and solid pitching stretches despite the loss.
Nash Crowell hit his second home run of the season in the second inning, bringing Tennessee Tech level early. Jorsixt Jimenez added his team-leading eleventh homer in the sixth inning, narrowing SIUE’s lead. The Golden Eagles’ bullpen, led by reliever Reece McDuffie, delivered three consecutive scoreless innings during the middle part of the game and kept Tennessee Tech within reach.
While SIUE used key extra-base hits to extend its advantage, Tennessee Tech collected six hits overall and maintained pressure throughout. The efforts from Crowell and Jimenez provided bright spots for a team looking to build momentum moving forward.
The Golden Eagles will return to action against Western Kentucky on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Central Time.
