4.9% of Putnam County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Putnam County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.9% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,890 people out of the 78,955 living in Putnam County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Putnam County has decreased compared to the 5.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Putnam County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 36,846 people who had a job during that time, 120 were employed in the Armed Forces and 36,726 belonged to the civilian labor force.
