Tennessee Tech forward Jaylen Sebree took home the first postseason accolade of his career Tuesday afternoon, earning a spot on the All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team after turning in a spectacular season donning the purple and gold.

The graduate transfer from Morehead State made his lone season in Cookeville count, leading the Golden Eagles to a second-place finish in the league's regular-season standings, their highest, outright finish since winning the OVC back in 2004-05. The team's finish also locked Tech into the No. 2 seed of the OVC Tournament and a trip to the semifinals, the program's first since 2012.

Sebree led the purple and gold in both scoring and rebounding during the year, averaging 15.1 points per game, ranking sixth in the OVC, and 7.1 rebounds per game, good for fifth in the league. He represented the only player in the conference to rank in the top-10 in both categories.

The Hopkinsville, Ky. native proved lethal everywhere on the court, shooting 48.9 percent from the field (12th in the OVC) and 41.1 percent from 3-point range (seventh in the league). Sebree was one of just two players to rank in the top-15 in the conference in both statistics.

His 1.9 3-point field goals per game marked the 13th-most in the OVC on the year, while his 58 total treys were good enough for second on the Golden Eagle squad. His contributions beyond the arc also helped the 2022-23 squad break the program's single-season record for made triples, a mark snapped on Saturday at Eastern Illinois.

Beyond just his scoring prowess, Sebree excelled as one of the league's top rebounders, hauling over 220 boards to lead the time while averaging 29.7 minutes per game. He proved an adept passer, averaging 2.3 assists per game, and was a boon to the Tech defense, piling up 12 blocks and a team-high-tying 32 steals.

He closed out the year scoring in double figures in each of the final 10 games and hit double digits in all but one OVC tilt. Sebree produced double-digit scoring efforts 26 times on the year and led the Golden Eagles with seven double-doubles during the season.

Securing its trip to the semifinals of the OVC Tournament in Evansville this weekend, the Golden Eagles will play a to-be-determined opponent on Friday, Mar. 3 in a 9:30 p.m. CT tilt on ESPNU. Tech could face No. 3 UT Martin, No. 6 SIUE, or No. 7 Southern Indiana in the contest. The championship game is slated for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 4 and will be televised on ESPN2.
