Graduates earn 131 degrees, certificates from the Fortis Institute-Cookeville

About 61.8 percent of the 131 degrees and certificates handed out by the Fortis Institute-Cookeville in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Cookeville conferred 53 certificates and 28 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in truck and bus driver/commercial vehicle operator and instructor. Data shows the school gave out 33 certificates in truck and bus driver/commercial vehicle operator and instructor, followed by 30 certificates in medical/clinical assistant and 17 certificates in pharmacy technician/assistant.

The institute enrolled 214 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
