Tennessee Tech outfielder Jorsixt Jimenez was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week, according to an April 13 announcement from the league office. The recognition follows a strong week for Jimenez at the plate, helping his team secure two wins.
Jimenez’s performance is notable as he led Tennessee Tech to a midweek victory over Austin Peay and contributed significantly in a series-ending win against UT Martin. During these games, he batted .500 and recorded one double, one triple, and three home runs.
The outfielder also drove in eight runs and achieved a slugging percentage of 1.167 while reaching base at a .550 rate. These numbers made him stand out among his peers for the week. Jimenez currently leads all players in the conference with 14 home runs and 48 runs batted in this season.
This is Jimenez’s first time earning OVC Player of the Week honors this year.
Tennessee Tech is scheduled to play its next game on Tuesday against Austin Peay at 6 p.m. Central Time.
