Tennessee Tech completed the first day of play at the Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational on Apr. 13, with second-round action suspended due to darkness and scheduled to resume Tuesday morning.
The tournament is taking place at the University Club of Kentucky, where Tennessee Tech currently stands in sixth place as a team at +25 through most of the second round. The Golden Eagles finished the opening round with a score of +15 and were +10 in round two when play was halted.
Haden Maxwell led Tennessee Tech’s efforts, finishing Monday tied for first place at 2-under par through 15 holes. Maxwell recorded an even-par opening round and followed it with a strong performance in round two before darkness stopped play, putting him level atop the leaderboard with Kentucky’s Cameron Phillips.
Nick Etherton also contributed for Tennessee Tech, ending Monday tied for 15th at 4-over through 16 holes. Other team members included Cooper Gettler (+12), Bryson White (+11), and Matthew Shull (+17) as they worked through their rounds before suspension.
Kentucky leads the team standings at 3-under par, followed by Marquette (+6) and Eastern Kentucky (+12). Play will resume Tuesday morning with completion of round two and then move into the final round.
