Tennessee Tech announced on Apr. 16 that three members of its men’s tennis team have been recognized for their academic achievements by the Horizon League.

The recognition highlights the continued academic success of Tennessee Tech’s tennis program, with Alex Alvarez and Davids Spaks earning spots on the Horizon League All-Academic Team, while Lucas Bitzer received an honorable mention. These honors underscore the team’s commitment to excellence both on and off the court.

According to the announcement, “Alex Alvarez and Davids Spaks took home spots on the Horizon League All-Academic Team, while Lucas Bitzer secured an honorable mention to the prestigious list.” The release also notes that “Alvarez’s reservation on the squad marks a second-consecutive year in which the Barcelona, Spain native has claimed the All-Academic Team accolade.”

The team has a strong tradition of academic achievement.
